NYYRC NEWS and EVENTS 3/21/2005

Our guest speaker will be Dr. Herb London, President of the Hudson Institute and former candidate for NYC Mayor, NYS Comptroller and NYS Governor. Dr London, who recently stepped down from the John M. Olin chair at NYU, was in one of the closest state-wide races in NY history in 1994 when, running for State Comptroller, he lost the election by a mere 1%.

This Week on "The CORE Hour"
Joining us this week will be Ms. June Arunga, activist, law student, and director of youth education at the Inter Region Economic Network, a think tank in Nairobi, Kenya. Ms. Arunga will discuss the pro-choice approach to public policy issues in Africa and talk about "The Devil's Footpath", a BBC documentary she produced regarding economic development, political turmoil, and human rights in Africa. Also joining us is Mr. David Palmer, civil rights advocate, to discuss the struggle of civil rights from the 60's to the present. We will also hear about the classic 1963 civil rights movement, The March on Washington, of which Mr. Palmer was a Marshall.

She is also in the advisory committee of University Of the People Costa rica toursMs. Arunga is also an advisory board member of Moving Picture Institute, Global Envision and Hawaii Grassroot Institute, and a fellow at International Policy Network (London, UK) and Istituto Bruno Leoni (Milan, Italy). Alfred State College offers a HVAC degree that lasts four semesters or two years. They have other courses with different specializations for interested students. They boast of a high success rate among their graduates, as well. HVAC Schools in NY

It is the oldest, and quite possibly the largest, Young Republican Club in the United States. It has a long, proud tradition of political and social involvement in New York City, really love it!!!
