3. SaveNewYork.org

A new organization is being launched dedicated to open, honest and effective government in New York. What a radical idea in NY state, ranked dead last in economic freedom in the U.S. Economic Freedom Index, and with the most dysfunctional state legislature by the Brennen Center for Justice at NYU School of Law. The name of the organization is SAVE NEW YORK.

The Mission of Save New York is to help increase public awareness of the fundamental flaws in public policy in New York and to build pressure for reform. Through statewide events and activity Save New York will promote our legislative goals and persuade our elected officials to take a stand. Through our state and federal political action committees we will help elect candidates who support, and defeat candidates who oppose, our common sense ideas for legislative reform.

Save New York's initial goals will be to Fix Medicaid, Fight for Non-partisan Redistricting, Increase Education Opportunities for Poor Families, and Cut Taxes and Simplify the Tax Code. Please visit the website for more details.

If you want to get involved, please sign up for Save New York's email alerts and complete a volunteer form. You might also consider making a contribution so the save New York has the necessary resources to save New York.

Petition for Academic Freedom at Columbia

Columbians for Academic Freedom have launched a petitition asking the university to investigate political bias and protect students who report it. I hope that you
will consider signing the petition. Please help ensure that the university takes this issue seriously.
Although the petition is not meant to further conservative ends directly, it will help conservatives at Columbia. The petition and controversy grew out of
documentary, which exposed the pervasive anti-Israel bias in the classrooms.

For more information on the controversy at Columbia,
please see the Campus Watch survey of Columbia.
