An interesting piece: James Taranto on whether politicians can and should blog. So far, they can't and they shouldn't.

Texas Tom sent me a piece by National Review writer Byron York on the ludicrous study done at Berkeley (with taxpayer dollars, of course) to determine to what extent conservatives are crazy and evil. No, I'm not kidding.
Tom writes: 'I especially find the reference to the "Republican Scandal Machine" insulting and sloppy . I suppose it's far more dignified to simply lump in legit conservatives like Reagan and Limbaugh with Hitler and Mussolini. Could this be just thinly-veiled leftist clap-trap? Yep, smells like home-cookin' to me.'
Jonah Goldberg has also trashed the study here.
Update: the American Scene Blog has more on the study.
